Our production of the Cathedrals series of paintings and prints has inevitably triggered interest in other areas.

The Narrow Gauge Series
Adrian and Mike's activities have a strong link with the Baie de Somme in Picardy, Northern France. They have a home and business interests there, close by the famous narrow gauge railway that runs like a horse shoe around the stunningly beautiful Baie. Living amongst all of this beauty is a local and highly accomplished artist Reynald Goldstein. His paintings of the area and it's wildlife are much sought after but he never thought to paint the Petit Train until a Festival du Vapeur took place in 2003. We commissioned Reynald and this is his magnificent painting of Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme.

In this picture, the Cathedral if you like, is the beautiful wetland of the Baie with the train just helping to set the scene. Like our other paintings though this is a real scene.

The painting has been reproduced in our usual signed limited edition print run of 500 copies.

These were all signed by Reynald at our first ever Artsteam Exhibition held in Relais de Baie du Somme in the village of Noyelles in April 2003.

The romance of narrow gauge railways in striking and beautiful scenery, there to be captured by Reynald means that this will be the first of a Narrow Gauge series. Having started in France it will remain international, taking in some of the stunning sites of Europe including of course Wales and definitely the world famous Darjeeling Himalayan Mountain Railway. Reynald could be a well traveled man by the time the series is completed!

Aircraft
Something of a departure from our railway and cathedral themes, but a question of playing to our strengths. A very good friend of ours in Harold "Johnny" Johnston. As you can see from his paintings he is a superb artist and not just of aircraft either. However, Johnny's first love is aircraft having served in the RAF in WWII and being one of the few tail gunners to have survived. His knowledge of aircraft and his eye for detail make his paintings outstanding. He has the enviable advantage of having witnessed these scenes at first hand, over sixty years ago.

The first two paintings that we are reproducing are arguably the WWII classics, the Lancaster and the Spitfire.

As usual these are available in signed limited editions of 500 prints. However they are of a slightly smaller size with a print image of 14 1/2" x 21 1/4" but again with a generous surround for mounting.
